We Are Building a Greenhouse

We are very excited to say that we are expecting… a Greenhouse! Like most of my ideas, the idea of a greenhouse started out very small. Stage 1 was a small lean-to on the back of our garage. Stage 2 was a larger lean-to on the back of the garage. The problem with these was that we would have to go outside to get into the greenhouse; it wasn’t attached to the main house. The idea of having to go into the freezing cold to get into the warm greenhouse seemed very inconvenient. Stage 3 was a lean-to greenhouse onto the back of our house. The greenhouse would now be connected to what is now our back door and to get to the backyard you would have to go through the greenhouse. Stage 4 and the final stage is still attached onto the back of the house, but much larger.

The greenhouse will be a dining room/sitting room inside a giant greenhouse. We have been feeling like space is a little tight in our purposefully smaller home. We just need a teeny weeny extra space. Making the greenhouse super big will give us the growing space we need along with the extra room to make us a little more comfortable.

We are ordering our custom kit through BC Greenhouses. It comes with extra wide roof vents and automatic openers, an aluminum frame, tempered safety glass, and a continuous bolt track system. Our consultant at BC Greenhouse has been incredibly helpful and great to work with. We are so excited!
