Hot Chocolate Leveled Up

Hot Chocolate Leveled Up

I did it. I filled a tube with spit. It was so hard you guys. Disgusting. I gagged a few times. I had to read a book while I was filling it to distract myself, but geez was it gross. I have been wanting to do one of these ancestry kits for a while, mostly because I have some family in question. I have one Jewish parent, my father, and I went through the conversion process in 2007. I recently (two years ago) was told that my maternal grandmother thinks her mom was Jewish. She knows that her mom’s father was Jewish but is not sure about her maternal grandmother. Do you follow me? If this maternal grandmother of mine is Jewish, absolutely nothing in my life changes, but I WANT TO KNOW! This test will not confirm my suspicions but it is another clue. Now to patiently wait 6-8 weeks…

LOOK AT THIS BABY WAITING FOR CHALLAH!!!

I have been trying to get better about spending Shabbat with another family and this past week I made it happen. For dinner we had brisket, sweet potatoes, roasted baby potatoes, carrots, RAINBOW CHALLAH. Healthy and delicious!

The cake was ordered from Queen of Cakes in Edina. Their cakes are beautiful and incredibly yummy. I brought in a few pictures and they came up with spectacular creation.

The next recipe in The Beekman 1802 Heirloom Dessert Cookbook was a Hot Chocolate recipe. I was surprised a hot chocolate recipe was in the book, thats not a dessert. I think of hot chocolate as being in the same category as tea or coffee. Nope! This hot chocolate is a legit dessert. So chocolatey Willy Wonka wouldn’t be able to handle it. So good!

Have a great week!
