And Then We Bought a House

Woo hoo! We bought a house! We have been looking for a fixer upper in the western suburbs of Minneapolis for the past month. We wanted a small house, 2,000ish sq. ft., on a big lot, more than a 1/2 acre. It turned out that, that combination was hard to find! The bigger the lots the bigger the houses, and we knew we wanted to downsize and have a great layout.

What we found was a  1 1/2 story home, with 2,000 sq. ft., 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, on a .76 acre lot. I can see it in my head, what it will look like when it is done, it will be beautiful!

My favorite things about the house are…

  1. The master suite is on the 1st floor.
  2. The kids rooms are all upstairs.
  3. The basement is unfinished and I don’t have to go down there!
  4. The layout will improve the efficiency of our family.

There is nothing I dislike, but what I am nervous about…

  1. The kitchen being big enough.
  2. The 1/2 story being annoying for our tall family.
  3. Meshing all of our ideas and tastes to create a beautiful home.

Demolition is happening now! Literally right now! The contractor will start working in the next few weeks and I can’t wait to see the progress.
