Diaper Shower for Twins

My very good friend Laura is having twins! I am so excited for her and I can’t wait to meet them in a few weeks!!! I really wanted to do something nice for her and decided to throw her a shower. She already has two small children and has already had a shower but with twins I feel like you are allowed to break the “one baby shower” rule.

She was very against accumulating more baby “stuff” so I made it a diaper shower. At a diaper shower everybody brings diapers as their gift. She is having two girls and I wanted to keep things simple so there was no theme besides diapers and I chose the color purple to keep things more cohesive.

I made these very cute Diaper invitations

The place I chose for the shower is a bakery that serves breakfast and lunch and they have a separate side room that gave us some privacy and helped corral the kids. A delicious lunch was served, consisting of salad, two types of sandwiches, two types of soups, dessert bars, and an assortment of freshly squeezed juices. Having the shower somewhere other than my house removed a lot of stress, no cooking and no clean up!

I didn’t do much for decorations but a little went a long way. Purple tablecloths and “diaper flowers” brightened up the room and tied in the theme.

There were A LOT of kids at the shower. To keep them busy I brought coloring, animal lacing, and a building set. And the food was kid friendly, eating is an activity right? 🙂

For adults I had burp cloths to decorate but with all the kids there it was very difficult for anybody to spend time doing this. Nice thought but unreasonable with kids. I also made a Wishes For Baby fill in sheet. I love this as a shower activity because it is good for people who don’t like shower games and can be turned into a wonderful keepsake. I will be putting all of the sheets into scrapbooks for the babies. You can print these on any color paper and they will look good.

As a favor for guests I ordered soap on Etsy; there are so many soap sellers! Then I made some very simple bands with more purple paper to tie them into the shower.

I hope you enjoy these ideas for a very simple Diaper Shower that will be greatly appreciated!
