Journaling
Ok I know what you are going to say, “How the freak can a 2 year old journal???”
It is possible!
Every day that we school we start with her journal. I like the idea of starting a schooling day the same way every day. I hope that the consistency will get her in the learning mood. When I set up her workboxes for the day I date a page and draw a prompt in her journal. I use a composition book because I figured it would hold up well to the beatings of a two year old. The prompt can be a shape, symbol, letter, etc. She then will use crayons, markers, or stickers to interact with the prompt. Some days she does a lot, some days she is not into it.
Here are a few of her recent journal entries.
She seems to enjoy doing her journal. It is fun to see her way of thinking in how she interacts with her posts. For example, if the prompt was a circle she could draw outside of the circle or inside, along the line, she could split it into sections, or she could do one design inside and another outside. I am looking forward to seeing how her entries develop overtime.
